This Team of Indian Engineers built a CamScanner Alternative in just 4 days!
A Team of Engineers have built BharatScanner - an Indian Alternative of CamScanner in just 4 days. This shows the technical capabilities of Indians and the hard work they can put in when it is about our country.
On 29th June 2020, When Indian Government banned 59 Chinese apps, CamScanner was one of the apps. It was banned because CamScanner was being used in Indian Hospitals, Government Offices, Colleges, Research Institutes and the documents scanned could be easily sent to china. This meant that China Govt. could easily find out everything that Indians were working on. Any new research work or medical breakthroughs could easily land in their hands.
Pajjwal & Kunal had been using CamScanner for a very long time but never thought how risky it was to use Chinese apps. Only after the ban, they realized that Chinese apps are a threat to National Security, especially after the Galwan Valley incident.
Hence, they started working on a better and more secure alternative of CamScanner that could be used by Indians without any worry of their data getting leaked. They started working on BharatScanner on 1st July and spent 4 days and 4 nights spending 18 hours a day on coding the app.
On 2nd July, they release a beta version, and then on 5th July at 8 PM they released the Full version for Public use.
Indians' Support and Exponential Growth
Immediately after the launch, BharatScanner went viral and got downloaded over 1000 times in just 4 hours. in the first 24 hours of the launch, the app got 4500+ downloads on Google PlayStore. Their posts on social media has been reshared more than 250 times. Indians have come up in support of the app everywhere and the app is being used by many doctors, hospitals and offices.

While creating the app, they were sure that they were not doing this for money but just to join the fight against China, Hence the app is completely Free of Cost. Chinese companies have been making a lot of money from Indian users and it is time that we become "Aatmnirbhar" and stop funding China.

Who are the people behind BharatScanner?
BharatScanner has been developed by Noida and Bangalore based KickHead Softwares Pvt. Ltd.
The founder are Prajjwal Sinha, Ranjita Singh and Kunal Pasricha.
Prajjwal is a Computer Science Engineer and an Alumnus of IIM Bangalore. He has worked in companies like McAfee, Intel and TCS.
Ranjita Singh is an Alumnus of St. Aloysius and takes care of the User Experience and Design.
Kunal is a Full Stack Developer and has developed numerous android apps in the past. He has worked in WigWag and ARM (The Semiconductor Giant).
