How to use proxy to use torrent ? Or How to access torrent using proxy in India?

In the previous blog I described how you can use VPN to access torrent sites in india.
This blog deals with using proxy server to spoof your IP and thus allow access to any site.

I will be discussing the use of proxies on different browsers.

Lets start from the most common browser i.e. GOOGLE CHROME !
Google chrome uses the Internet Explorer settings internally.
So If you go to the small WRENCH at the top right corner of the browser and click on Settings -> Show Advanced Settings ->  Network -> Change Proxy Settings-> LAN Settings.. It opens an Internet Explorer Dialogue box.

You can reach at the same dialogue box through Internet Explorer through :
Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections tab on IE -> LAN Settings.

Clicking on LAN Settings opens a window  as shown in the next picture:
 

                                         How to use proxy  Server ?

Check the CheckBox : "Use a proxy server for your LAN".
Enter the Proxy Server IP beside "Address" and change the port number as given with the IP in proxy IP list.
In My Case I have entered :
121.10.243.44  and port number as 3128 as taken from a famous website for Proxy IP address.

One good website to get the latest proxy server IPs is:
 http://samair.ru/proxy/

It keeps on updating the IP lists everyday.

Once you are done click on OK in all the Windows/Dialogue boxes.

Now Go to http://whatismyipaddress.com/ .
This website displays your current IP address. In will be same as the value that You just entered in the Address textbox.

Below is the Snapshot  which says that my IP is 121.10.243.44 and It belongs to China!! Hurray!!:

You can now go ahead and use the torrent sites.
Please Note: Use the proxies just to download the torrent files and immediately change the IP address back by UNCHECKING the boxes mentioned above as proxies slow down your  internet speed .

How to Access torrent sites in India

Well here is a tight slap on the ISP's face who have blocked torrent sites..: How to open torrent sites in India Unable to open torrent sites ? Here is the solution.
